Sanchez Starks established the Cleveland School Zone with a clear vision: to have a significant impact on STEAM education, which he felt was lacking. His mission is to ensure that students from diverse backgrounds have equal opportunities to excel in STEAM fields and achieve success.

In pursuit of this ambitious goal, Sanchez committed himself to earning a master's degree in secondary education with a specialization in STEM. He refined his teaching skills by instructing mathematics at Cuyahoga Community College and amassing nearly two decades of experience teaching in diverse educational settings, including rural, inner-city, and suburban communities.

Utilizing his extensive knowledge and experience, Sanchez made a transition into the position of an educational consultant with Jobs for the Future. This venture eventually paved the way for Sanchez to establish his own path. Drawing on his expertise, he offered valuable guidance to academic administrators, educators, and students, nurturing a student-centered learning approach and fostering a mindset conducive to joyful and effective learning. By leveraging principles of inquiry-based and competency-based learning in education, Sanchez empowered teachers to better connect with and understand their students. He strongly advocates for the belief that a growth mindset is crucial for success, both in life and academia.
